How do I store my sourdough loaf?

Your loaf is freshly baked the day of pick up. It will last on the counter in the provided bread bag 5-7 days. After slicing each day, any unused portion should be promptly placed back in the bread bag to prevent the loaf from drying out. Alternatively, you can cut your loaf into slices and freeze in a zip-lock bag. Just pull out slices as needed and toast. It comes right back to life!

You can also place a whole, un-cut loaf in a zip lock bag and place in freezer. The night before you wish to use it, pull it out of the freezer and let it come back to room temperature. Place thawed loaf directly on the oven rack in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly and enjoy!

Sourdough bread can last up to 3 months in the freezer.

Can I re-crisp the crust on my loaf?

Yes! There is nothing better than a loaf fresh out of the oven. To achieve the crispy outer layer you can pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Run your whole loaf under water or spray generously with a spray bottle filled with water. Place directly on the oven rack for 10-15 minutes. I only suggest doing this to a whole loaf that has not been cut into yet.

What is the best way to cut my loaf?

I highly suggest a good bread knife to achieve even slices. I have a few affordable options linked here.

My favorite way to cut a loaf is in half, then rotate the half so the cut side is flat against your cutting board. Then make your slices. See picture below. Ultimately, this will just come down to personal preference!
